We use this debate to celebrate the achievements of the women of our country who against many obstacles continue to do great things.
We do this because it is our belief that women are powerful. Women are great. Women are smart. Womenare leaders.
Today, I celebrate the women of our country who are leading in politics, business, academia, civil society, sports, arts and culture. I especially want to celebrate the women that are leading families and raising children by themselves.
But despite the greatness of women, they have been undermined by society in general, meaning that they are not afforded the resources, mentorship and space to be all that they can be.
